rooms. The device was designed for private usage and is not suited for commercial use. The device is particularly well suited for additional heating. The device is only intended for floor installation. Any use other than the intended use is regarded as misuse.

Reasonably foreseeable misuse
• Do not place the device on wet or flooded ground.
• Do not place any objects, e.g. clothing, on the device.
• Do not use this device in the vicinity of fuel, solvents,
varnishes or other easily inflammable vapours or in rooms
where these substances are stored.• Do not use the device out of doors.
• Do not use the device for heating vehicles.
• Do not use the heating device in immediate vicinity of
swimming pools, bathtubs and showers.
• Never immerse the device in water.
• Do not make any unauthorised modifications, alterations or
structural changes to the device.
Personnel qualification
People who use this device must:• be aware of the dangers that occur when working with
electric devices in damp areas. have read and understood the instructions, especially the Safety chapter.
• Maintenance tasks which require the housing to be opened
must only be carried out by specialist electrical companies or by
the manufacturer.

Parts of this appliance can become very hot and cause
burns. Particular attention is to be paid when there are children or vulnerable persons present!
Improper handling entails a risk of burning and electric
shock. Only use the device as intended!
Dangers can occur at the device when it is used by
untrained people in an unprofessional or improper way! Observe the personnel qualifications!
The device is not a toy and does not belong in the
hands of children.
Risk of suffocation! Do not leave the packaging lying around. Children may use it as a dangerous toy.

Behaviour in the event of an emergency
• Switch the device off.

Overheating protection
The device is provided with a safety thermostat which is
activated by overheating of the device (when exceeding the operating temperature). Once the safety thermostat has switched itself on, the device will be turned off. When the device has cooled down sufficiently, the heating will be switched back on. Investigate the cause of overheating.If the safety thermostat does not switch in the event of
overheating, the overheating protection will be tripped. In that case the device switches off completely. If so, please contactthe customer service to have the overheating protection
replaced.
Information about the device
Device description
The designer glass convector TCH E / TCH E is used to generate warm air for interior spaces.The device generates heat by means of an electric heating
element. The air surrounding the heating element is heated. Theheated air rises through the air outlet and thus creates a natural
suction that makes the cold room air flow into the device.The device is equipped with an integrated temperature sensor
which controls the heating depending on the current and the
desired room temperature. Using the touch panel integrated in the safety glass, you can set a target temperature value between 5 °C and 50 °C. Moreover, the device is equipped with a remote control that can be used for controlling all functions and settings. The feet's integrated castors allow for a convenient positioning of the device inside the room. The castors are fitted with aparking brake so as to prevent the device from rolling away
inadvertently. The device is protected against splash water (IP24). The functioning of the two devices is identical, they merely differ in appearance or to be precise in colour: The TCH E is white and the TCH E black.

Transport and storage
Assembly and start-up
If you store or transport the device improperly, the device may be damaged.Note the information regarding transport and storage of
the device.
Transport
To make the device easier to transport, it is fitted with wheels.
Before transporting the device, observe the following:• Hold onto the mains plug while pulling the power cable out
Switch the device off. Release the brakes at the castors.
• Do not use the power cable to drag the device.
Allow the device to cool down sufficiently.• Storage
Before storing the device, proceed as follows:• Hold onto the mains plug while pulling the power cable out
Allow the device to cool down sufficiently.
• When the device is not being used, observe the following
storage conditions:• Store the device in a dry location and protected from frost
and heat.Store the device in an upright position where it is protected
from dust and direct sunlight. If required, use a cover to protect the device from invasive dust.Place no further devices or objects on top of the device to
prevent it from being damaged. Remove the batteries from the remote control.• Scope of delivery

• Unpacking the device
• Open the cardboard box and take the device out.
• Completely remove the packaging.
• Fully unwind the power cable. Make sure that the power
cable is not damaged and that you do not damage it during
unwinding.
Assembly
Risk of injury due to incorrect assembly! Local or national regulations may apply for installation, especially for wet rooms. We recommend to have the installation carried out by a qualified electrician.
Risk of fire due to improper installation!There is a risk of fire if the required minimum
distances are not observed. Observe the “Installation” section in the “Assembly and start-up” chapter and the technical data in the “Technical annex” chapter.
Assembly of feet with castors
• Place the device on a table or on packaging board with the
glass surface pointing down.
• Fasten both feet (3) with 3 screws each

• Check the feet (3) for tight fit.
• Set the device up in an upright and stable position.

If required, engage the parking brakes (6) by pushing the lever down.
Start-up
Odours might arise upon initial start-up or after a
longer period of non-use.
When positioning the device, observe the minimum distancefrom walls or other objects as described in the chapter
Technical annex.
• Do not create tripping hazards when laying the power
cable or other electric cables, especially when positioning the device in the middle of the room. Use cable bridges.• Make sure that extension cables are completely unrolled.
• Make sure that no curtains or other objects interfere with
the air flow.
• Do not position the device directly below a wall socket.
• Make sure that the device cannot come into contact with
moisture or water.
Inserting batteries into the remote control
Do not touch the battery compartment with wet or
damp hands.
Do not use rechargeable batteries! Observe the Technical data for start-up.
• Press the upper part on the back of the remote control and

pull the battery cover off the remote control.Insert two batteries into the battery compartment
according to the correct polarity.
• Slide the battery cover back onto the remote control.
Connecting the power cable
• Insert the mains plug into a properly fused mains socket.
• Make sure that the power cable is guided along the back
of the device. Never guide the power cable along the front of the device!• Before starting the device, check the condition of the
power cable. If there are doubts as to their sound condition, contact the customer service. Set the device up in an upright and stable position.

The display comes with a blue background
illumination. The background illumination switches on as soon as one of the control panel buttons is pressed. After approx. 30 seconds without any input, the background illumination switches back off.
Switching the device on
Once you have completely installed the device as described in
the chapter Assembly and start-up, you can switch it on.• Set the on/off switch (5) to I.
An acoustic signal is emitted. The device is now in standby mode.
• Press the On / Standby button (18).
The device starts in frost monitor heating mode. The frost monitor heating mode indication (10) is
displayed with a flashing black frame.

the current room temperature.
Setting the timer
The timer has the following functionality:• automatic switch-off upon expiry of a preset number of
hours.
The timer run-time can be between 1 minute and 24 hours and can be adjusted in increments of 1 min.
The device must not be left unattended in a freely
accessible room with an activated timer.
Automatic switch-off
ü The device is switched on.• Press the TIME button (14).
• Select the desired number of hours by use of the arrow
buttons (15 or 16). The value range is between 1 and 23. The number of hours flashes on the hours / minutes
indication (19).• Press the TIME button (14).
• Select the desired number of minutes by use of the arrow
buttons (15 or 16). The value range is between 1 and 59. The number of minutes flashes on the hours / minutes
indication (20).• Press the TIME button (14).
The desired time until automatic switch-off is saved. The timer indication (19) flashes. The time left until switch-off is shown on the hours /
minutes indication (20) and counted down. In device will then switch to standby mode.
Notes regarding automatic switch-off:• Manually switching the device off disables the automatic
switch-off function. If you select 0 hours / minutes, the timer will be off.
• Setting the operating mode

The following types of heating can be selected:• 1. Press the MODE button (17) until the desired heating mode

is selected. The selected mode and the heating indication (11) will
be displayed edged in black.
Comfort heating mode
The device operates with a heating capacity of W until reaching the desired room temperature. When the desired room temperature is reached, the device reduces the heating capacity to W. The comfort heating mode indication (8) continues to be displayed.If the determined room temperature exceeds the desired room
temperature by 2 °C, the heating switches off. The heating indication (11) is no longer framed.If the determined room temperature falls below the desired
room temperature by 2 °C, the heating switches back to comfort heating mode.
Economy heating mode
The device operates with a heating capacity of W until thedetermined room temperature reaches the desired room
temperature. Then the heating switches off. The heating indication (11) is no longer framed.If the determined room temperature falls below the desired
room temperature by 2 °C, the heating switches back to economy heating mode.
Frost monitor heating mode
In frost monitor heating mode the devices heats automatically if
the room temperature is below 5 °C. This temperature cannot be changed.
Setting the desired room temperature
The room temperature determined by the temperature
sensor (5) is displayed on the temperature indication (21). You can set the desired room temperature at any time. The room temperature is preset to 35 °C.• Press the TEMP button (13).
The temperature indication (21) flashes. The desired room temperature is displayed.
• Press the arrow buttons increase value (16) or decrease
value (15) to adjust the desired room temperature. Setting is possible in the range between 5 °C and 50 °C in increments of 1 °C.The desired room temperature is saved and shown on
the temperature indication (21) for approx. 5 seconds. Then the current room temperature is displayed again.

Errors and faults
Tasks which require the device to be opened must
only be carried out by authorised specialist

Wait for at least 3 minutes after maintenance and repair work. Only then switch the device back on.The device has been checked for proper functioning several
times during production. If malfunctions occur nonetheless, check the device according to the following list.
The device does not start:• Check the power connection.
Check the on-site fusing.
The device is switched on, but the heating is not operating:• Check the room temperature. The room thermostat may
have switched off, because the desired room temperature has been reached. Check whether the overheating protection has tripped (see chapter Safety). The heating resistor might have blown. Have a defectiveheating resistor replaced by a specialist electrical
company. The room thermostat might be defective. Have a defectiveroom thermostat replaced by a specialist electrical
company.• The air current is reduced:
• Check the air inlet and outlet. Make sure that air inlet and
outlet are not obstructed. Remove any dirt. Observe theminimum distance from walls or other objects according to
the technical data

Cleaning the housing
Never immerse the device in water!
Clean the housing with a soft, damp and lint-free cloth. Make sure that no moisture enters the housing. Protect electrical components from moisture. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents such as cleaning sprays, solvents, alcohol-based or abrasive cleaners to dampen the cloth. Wipe the housing dry after cleaning.

Overheating protection
The device is provided with a safety thermostat which is
activated by overheating of the device (when exceeding the operating temperature). Once the safety thermostat has switched itself on, the device will be turned off. When the device has cooled down sufficiently, the heating will be switched back on. Investigate the cause of overheating.If the safety thermostat does not switch in the event of
overheating, the overheating protection will be tripped. In that case the device switches off completely. If so, please contactthe customer service to have the overheating protection
replaced.
Information about the device
Device description
The designer glass convector TCH E / TCH E is used to generate warm air for interior spaces.The device generates heat by means of an electric heating
element. The air surrounding the heating element is heated. Theheated air rises through the air outlet and thus creates a natural
suction that makes the cold room air flow into the device.The device is equipped with an integrated temperature sensor
which controls the heating depending on the current and the
desired room temperature. Using the touch panel integrated in the safety glass, you can set a target temperature value between 5 °C and 50 °C. Moreover, the device is equipped with a remote control that can be used for controlling all functions and settings. The feet's integrated castors allow for a convenient positioning of the device inside the room. The castors are fitted with aparking brake so as to prevent the device from rolling away
inadvertently. The device is protected against splash water (IP24). The functioning of the two devices is identical, they merely differ in appearance or to be precise in colour: The TCH E is white and the TCH E black.

Assembly and start-up
If you store or transport the device improperly, the device may be damaged.Note the information regarding transport and storage of

Transport
To make the device easier to transport, it is fitted with wheels.
Before transporting the device, observe the following:• Hold onto the mains plug while pulling the power cable out
Switch the device off. Release the brakes at the castors.

• When the device is not being used, observe the following
storage conditions:• Store the device in a dry location and protected from frost

• Open the cardboard box and take the device out.
• Completely remove the packaging.
• Fully unwind the power cable. Make sure that the power

Assembly
Risk of injury due to incorrect assembly! Local or national regulations may apply for installation, especially for wet rooms. We recommend to have the installation carried out by a qualified electrician.
Risk of fire due to improper installation!There is a risk of fire if the required minimum
distances are not observed. Observe the “Installation” section in the “Assembly and start-up” chapter and the technical data in the “Technical annex” chapter.

cable or other electric cables, especially when positioning the device in the middle of the room. Use cable bridges.• Make sure that extension cables are completely unrolled.
• Make sure that no curtains or other objects interfere with

• Do not position the device directly below a wall socket.
• Make sure that the device cannot come into contact with
moisture or water.
Inserting batteries into the remote control
Do not touch the battery compartment with wet or
damp hands.
Do not use rechargeable batteries! Observe the Technical data for start-up.

Connecting the power cable

The display comes with a blue background
illumination. The background illumination switches on as soon as one of the control panel buttons is pressed. After approx. 30 seconds without any input, the background illumination switches back off.
Switching the device on
Once you have completely installed the device as described in
the chapter Assembly and start-up, you can switch it on.• Set the on/off switch (5) to I.
An acoustic signal is emitted. The device is now in standby mode.

The device starts in frost monitor heating mode. The frost monitor heating mode indication (10) is

Setting the timer
The timer has the following functionality:• automatic switch-off upon expiry of a preset number of
hours.
The timer run-time can be between 1 minute and 24 hours and can be adjusted in increments of 1 min.
The device must not be left unattended in a freely
accessible room with an activated timer.
Automatic switch-off
ü The device is switched on.• Press the TIME button (14).
• Select the desired number of hours by use of the arrow
buttons (15 or 16). The value range is between 1 and 23. The number of hours flashes on the hours / minutes
indication (19).• Press the TIME button (14).
• Select the desired number of minutes by use of the arrow
buttons (15 or 16). The value range is between 1 and 59. The number of minutes flashes on the hours / minutes
indication (20).• Press the TIME button (14).
The desired time until automatic switch-off is saved. The timer indication (19) flashes. The time left until switch-off is shown on the hours /
minutes indication (20) and counted down. In device will then switch to standby mode.
Notes regarding automatic switch-off:• Manually switching the device off disables the automatic
switch-off function. If you select 0 hours / minutes, the timer will be off.

The device operates with a heating capacity of W until reaching the desired room temperature. When the desired room temperature is reached, the device reduces the heating capacity to W. The comfort heating mode indication (8) continues to be displayed.If the determined room temperature exceeds the desired room
temperature by 2 °C, the heating switches off. The heating indication (11) is no longer framed.If the determined room temperature falls below the desired
room temperature by 2 °C, the heating switches back to comfort heating mode.
Economy heating mode
The device operates with a heating capacity of W until thedetermined room temperature reaches the desired room
temperature. Then the heating switches off. The heating indication (11) is no longer framed.If the determined room temperature falls below the desired
room temperature by 2 °C, the heating switches back to economy heating mode.
Frost monitor heating mode
In frost monitor heating mode the devices heats automatically if
the room temperature is below 5 °C. This temperature cannot be changed.
Setting the desired room temperature
The room temperature determined by the temperature
sensor (5) is displayed on the temperature indication (21). You can set the desired room temperature at any time. The room temperature is preset to 35 °C.• Press the TEMP button (13).
The temperature indication (21) flashes. The desired room temperature is displayed.
• Press the arrow buttons increase value (16) or decrease
value (15) to adjust the desired room temperature. Setting is possible in the range between 5 °C and 50 °C in increments of 1 °C.The desired room temperature is saved and shown on
the temperature indication (21) for approx. 5 seconds. Then the current room temperature is displayed again.

have switched off, because the desired room temperature has been reached. Check whether the overheating protection has tripped (see chapter Safety). The heating resistor might have blown. Have a defectiveheating resistor replaced by a specialist electrical
company. The room thermostat might be defective. Have a defectiveroom thermostat replaced by a specialist electrical
company.• The air current is reduced:
• Check the air inlet and outlet. Make sure that air inlet and
