occasional use. The device is suitable for heating and ventilating closed rooms.It has been specially developed for private use and is not
intended for commercial use. It is particularly practical to provide additional heating. The device is designed exclusively for installation on the floor. Any use other than the intended use is regarded as misuse.
Reasonably foreseeable misuse
• Do not place the device on wet or flooded ground.
• Do not place any objects, e.g. clothing, on the device.
• Do not use this device in the vicinity of fuel, solvents,
varnishes or other easily inflammable vapours or in rooms
where these substances are stored.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not use the device for heating vehicles.
• Never immerse the device in water.
• Do not make any unauthorised modifications, alterations or
structural changes to the device.
• Do not use the heating device in immediate vicinity of
swimming pools, bathtubs and showers.
The device is not a toy and does not belong in the
hands of children.
Risk of suffocation! Do not leave the packaging lying around. Children may use it as a dangerous toy.
Improper installation entails a risk of fire. Do not place the device on combustible ground. Do not place the device on high-pile carpets.

Overheating protection
The device is provided with a safety thermostat which is
activated by overheating of the device:• In such an event the device switches off automatically.

Transport and storage
Device description
The convectors TCH 20 E / TCH 22 E serve to generate warm air
in interior spaces.The device generates heat by means of an electric heating
element. The air surrounding the heating element is heated. The heated air rises through the air outlet and thus enters the room.The device is equipped with an integrated thermostat and so
generates a constant flow of warm air. The device TCH 22 E comes with an additional turbo function for a faster distribution of the heated air. Furthermore, the device TCH 22 E is equipped with a timerallowing the operator to select the time for switch-on and
switch-off. The device is not protected against water (IPX0).

Transport
To make the device easier to transport, it is fitted with a carry handle.

• Unpacking the device
• Open the cardboard box and take the device out.
• Completely remove the packaging.
• Fully unwind the power cable. Make sure that the power
cable is not damaged and that you do not damage it during
unwinding.
Assembly
Risk of fire due to improper installation!There is a risk of fire if the required minimum
distances are not observed. Observe the “Installation” section in the “Assembly and start-up” chapter and the technical data in the “Technical annex” chapter.
Mounting the feet
Mount the feet before positioning the device.• Place the device on its side.
• Fasten each foot with two screws.
Start-up
Info
Odours may occur upon initial start-up or after a longer
period of non-use.
When positioning the device, observe the minimum distancefrom walls or other objects as described in the chapter
Technical annex.• Before starting the device, check the condition of the
power cable. If there are doubts as to their sound condition, contact the customer service.Set the device up in an upright and stable position or
suspend the device horizontally.• Do not create tripping hazards when laying the power
cable or other electric cables, especially when positioning the device in the middle of the room. Use cable bridges.• Make sure that extension cables are completely unrolled.
• Make sure that no curtains or other objects interfere with
• the air flow.
Install and set up the device so that it is not positioned
directly below or in front of a wall socket.Ensure that the device is protected from moisture and
water and cannot come into contact with them.
Connecting the power cable
• Connect the mains plug to a properly secured socket.
Route the power cable behind the device. Make sure that the power cable is never routed in front of the device!

Switching the device on
• Plug the mains plug into a sufficiently fused socket.
• Set the flip switch (6, 7) to On to select the desired
performance. You can actuate one flip switch for a capacity of 750 W (7) or W (6), or both flip switches for the maximum capacity of W. The lamp at the respective flip switch lights up.
• To use the optional timer:
Set the timer control (12) to I.
Setting the room thermostat
• Select the desired temperature via the infinitely variable
rotary switch (8) of the room thermostat. If the room thermostat is switched on, the lamps of the
activated power stages will light up.The room thermostat controls the room temperature
automatically:• When the set value is exceeded, the heating switches off.
• When the set value is fallen below, the heating
automatically switches back on.
Frost monitor function:• Turn the thermostat to the * marking (snowflake). In this
position, the room thermostat switches on the heatingautomatically if the room temperature drops below the
frost protection temperature.
Switching on the turbo blowers (TCH 22 E only)• Set the flip switch for the fan (13) to On.
The lamp at the flip switch will be illuminated.The fan starts running if the room thermostat is
switched on.
To distribute warm air, switch on the desired power
stage.
At high room temperatures you can use the device to
distribute cold air. To do so, switch off the power stages.

Programming the timer (TCH 22 E only)
Errors and faults
Info
Please note that if the timer is activated, the device will switch on and run unattended. Take the necessary precautions. For instance, do not leave children unattended near the device.
Risk of fire if you cover the device and then start it via
the timer.Never cover the device if you start it afterwards via the
timer!
The timer has a 24-hour format. You can use it to determine time intervals during which the device shall be switched on. The timer has a three-step control (12):• Position 0: The device is switched off.
Position I: Continuous operation. Centre position (clock symbol): The heating is switched on and off by the programmed timer. To program the timer, proceed as follows:• Turn the timer (9) clockwise until the indicator (11) points
to the current time.
• Slide the segments (10) for the time intervals during which
the device shall be switched on outwards.
• Set the control (12) to centre position.
The timer is programmed.
Shutdown
Do not touch the mains plug with wet or damp hands. Set all flip switches to Off. The lamps at the flip switches turn off.• When using the optional timer:
Set the timer control (12) to 0.
• Disconnect the device from the mains by removing the
mains plug from the socket. When doing so, be sure to Allow the device to cool down completely. If required, clean the device according to the "Maintenance" chapter.Store the device according to the Transport and storage
chapter.• Tasks which require the device to be opened must only
be carried out by authorised specialist companies or by
the manufacturer.
Notice
Wait for at least 3 minutes after maintenance and repair work. Only then switch the device back on.The device has been checked for proper functioning several
times during production. If malfunctions occur nonetheless, check the device according to the following list.
The device does not start:• Check the power connection.
Check the power cable and mains plug for damage. If you notice damages, do not try to take the device back into operation. Order a new spare cable from the manufacturer and replace the defective power cable with the new one. Check the on-site fusing. Check the room temperature. The room thermostat may have switched off, because the desired room temperature has been reached. The room thermostat might be defective. Have a defectiveroom thermostat replaced by a specialist electrical
company.
Check the timer (TCH 22 E only): If the control is set to 0 or if the current time has not been selected, the device will not start. Set the control to I (continuous operation). Check whether the overheating protection has tripped (see chapter Safety).• The fan does not run (TCH 22 E only):
Check whether the device is switched on. Check the power connection. Check the power cable and mains plug for damages. The fan motor might be defective. Have a defective fan motor replaced by a specialist electrical company.
The air current is reduced:• Check the air inlet and outlet. Make sure that air inlet and
outlet are not obstructed. Remove any dirt. Observe theminimum distance from walls or other objects according to
the technical data.
The device still does not operate correctly after these
checks: Please contact the customer service. If necessary, bring thedevice to an authorised specialist electrical company or to the
manufacturer for repair

• Open the cardboard box and take the device out.
• Completely remove the packaging.
• Fully unwind the power cable. Make sure that the power
cable is not damaged and that you do not damage it during
unwinding.
Assembly
Risk of fire due to improper installation!There is a risk of fire if the required minimum
distances are not observed. Observe the “Installation” section in the “Assembly and start-up” chapter and the technical data in the “Technical annex” chapter.
Mounting the feet
Mount the feet before positioning the device.• Place the device on its side.
• Fasten each foot with two screws.

period of non-use.
When positioning the device, observe the minimum distancefrom walls or other objects as described in the chapter
Technical annex.• Before starting the device, check the condition of the
power cable. If there are doubts as to their sound condition, contact the customer service.Set the device up in an upright and stable position or
suspend the device horizontally.• Do not create tripping hazards when laying the power
cable or other electric cables, especially when positioning the device in the middle of the room. Use cable bridges.• Make sure that extension cables are completely unrolled.
• Make sure that no curtains or other objects interfere with

Install and set up the device so that it is not positioned
directly below or in front of a wall socket.Ensure that the device is protected from moisture and
water and cannot come into contact with them.
Connecting the power cable
• Connect the mains plug to a properly secured socket.
Route the power cable behind the device. Make sure that the power cable is never routed in front of the device!

Switching the device on
• Plug the mains plug into a sufficiently fused socket.
• Set the flip switch (6, 7) to On to select the desired
performance. You can actuate one flip switch for a capacity of 750 W (7) or W (6), or both flip switches for the maximum capacity of W. The lamp at the respective flip switch lights up.
• To use the optional timer:
Set the timer control (12) to I.
Setting the room thermostat
• Select the desired temperature via the infinitely variable
rotary switch (8) of the room thermostat. If the room thermostat is switched on, the lamps of the
activated power stages will light up.The room thermostat controls the room temperature
automatically:• When the set value is exceeded, the heating switches off.
• When the set value is fallen below, the heating
automatically switches back on.
Frost monitor function:• Turn the thermostat to the * marking (snowflake). In this
position, the room thermostat switches on the heatingautomatically if the room temperature drops below the
frost protection temperature.
Switching on the turbo blowers (TCH 22 E only)• Set the flip switch for the fan (13) to On.
The lamp at the flip switch will be illuminated.The fan starts running if the room thermostat is
switched on.
To distribute warm air, switch on the desired power
stage.
At high room temperatures you can use the device to
distribute cold air. To do so, switch off the power stages.

Programming the timer (TCH 22 E only)

Please note that if the timer is activated, the device will switch on and run unattended. Take the necessary precautions. For instance, do not leave children unattended near the device.
Risk of fire if you cover the device and then start it via
the timer.Never cover the device if you start it afterwards via the
timer!
The timer has a 24-hour format. You can use it to determine time intervals during which the device shall be switched on. The timer has a three-step control (12):• Position 0: The device is switched off.
Position I: Continuous operation. Centre position (clock symbol): The heating is switched on and off by the programmed timer. To program the timer, proceed as follows:• Turn the timer (9) clockwise until the indicator (11) points
to the current time.
• Slide the segments (10) for the time intervals during which
the device shall be switched on outwards.
• Set the control (12) to centre position.
The timer is programmed.
Shutdown
Do not touch the mains plug with wet or damp hands. Set all flip switches to Off. The lamps at the flip switches turn off.• When using the optional timer:
Set the timer control (12) to 0.

mains plug from the socket. When doing so, be sure to Allow the device to cool down completely. If required, clean the device according to the "Maintenance" chapter.Store the device according to the Transport and storage

Notice
Wait for at least 3 minutes after maintenance and repair work. Only then switch the device back on.The device has been checked for proper functioning several
times during production. If malfunctions occur nonetheless, check the device according to the following list.
The device does not start:• Check the power connection.
Check the power cable and mains plug for damage. If you notice damages, do not try to take the device back into operation. Order a new spare cable from the manufacturer and replace the defective power cable with the new one. Check the on-site fusing. Check the room temperature. The room thermostat may have switched off, because the desired room temperature has been reached. The room thermostat might be defective. Have a defectiveroom thermostat replaced by a specialist electrical
company.
Check the timer (TCH 22 E only): If the control is set to 0 or if the current time has not been selected, the device will not start. Set the control to I (continuous operation). Check whether the overheating protection has tripped (see chapter Safety).• The fan does not run (TCH 22 E only):
Check whether the device is switched on. Check the power connection. Check the power cable and mains plug for damages. The fan motor might be defective. Have a defective fan motor replaced by a specialist electrical company.
The air current is reduced:• Check the air inlet and outlet. Make sure that air inlet and
outlet are not obstructed. Remove any dirt. Observe theminimum distance from walls or other objects according to
the technical data.
The device still does not operate correctly after these
checks: Please contact the customer service. If necessary, bring thedevice to an authorised specialist electrical company or to the
manufacturer for repair
